Approvals and Legislation

Exploration and mining titles in Western Australia are granted in accordance with the Mining Act 1978. The Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) administers this Act. A general overview of the mining title approval process is provided in this section, including various requirements specified under the Mining Act legislation. A checklist is included to provide assistance in the preparation and lodgement of a mining tenement application.
