Production Licence Applications

Where a commercial discovery is made, the successful explorer has a statutory right to the grant of a Production Licence. The initial term of an onshore Production Licence is 21 years and it may be renewed at any time for further periods as determined by the Minister. A Production Licence in the Commonwealth Offshore Area is granted for the duration of production plus a period of five years.
