GSWA maintains a comprehensive database of mines, mineral deposits and prospects along with their operating status, location and project ownership. Geological attributes include commodities, mineralisation style, resource estimates, and production history. Comprehensive online searching of this is available at ‘Mines and Mineral Deposits (MINEDEX)’, which is a text-based application.
Sites from MINEDEX are available in a variety of spatial formats from the ‘Data and Software Centre’, with formats including csv text file, ESRI shape file, Google Earth KMZ file, and MapInfo TAB file.
Sites from MINEDEX are also displayed in Departmental spatial systems, including the tenement graphics system of ‘TENGRAPH’ and ‘Interactive Geological Map (GeoVIEW.WA)’.
