Annual Reports Archive
Prior to 2009, the Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) was known as the Department of Industry and Resources (DoIR).
Though the name and some responsibilities have changed since then, detailed information of Western Australia’s mining and petroleum industry has been consistently documented in the Departmental Annual Reports below. These files contain a wealth of information dating from 1894 when the State was still a Colony to present day with commentary on all aspects of mining in Western Australia including:
- Minerals produced
- Number and acreage of leases
- Men Employed including accidents
- State aid to mining including Geological Survey
- Existing legislation
- Warden’s reports
- Public batteries
- Inspection of machinery
- School of Mines
- Plans and diagrams
