Common Application Issues - Frequently Asked Questions

I am having problems viewing the job description / job advertisement?

The job descriptions and job advertisements are posted on DMP’s website in PDF format.  You will need a compatible PDF viewer to open these files – an example of such a program can be found at http://www.adobe.com/.

To download the file, simply left-click on the  image and follow your Internet Browser prompts to open the file.  Alternatively, depending on your Internet Browser, you can right-click on the image, select ‘Save As’ and open the file from your computer.

Where can I find the Application Form mentioned in the advert?

The Application Form opens in a new window when you click the ‘Apply Now’ button.  To complete the form simply fill in all the required boxes, upload your Resume and other desired attachments and finish your application by clicking the ‘Apply Now’ button at the bottom of the page.

I have clicked on the ‘Apply Now’ button and nothing happens?

The ‘Apply Now’ button opens a new Internet Browser window containing the Application Form. If a new window fails to open, consult your Internet Browser’s security settings and/or help menu to allow the Internet Browser to open the new window.

Depending on your Internet Browser or firewall settings, a pop-up notification may appear telling you that a new window was prevented from opening.  If this is the case, follow the on-screen prompts to allow pop-ups from www.dmp.wa.gov.au and try clicking on the ‘Apply Now’ button again if a new window does not appear.

I have followed the above steps and it’s still not working?

If the above tips do not work please send your application to recruitment@dmp.wa.gov.au and in the Subject line of the email put the position number of the job you are interested in.  Alternatively, please contact the HR Officer listed on the advert you are applying for to discuss alternative means of sending through your application.
