Thursday, 26 February 2009
Entries for the Department of Mines and Petroleum’s environmental excellence awards, the Golden Gecko Awards, are now open.
The department is looking for mineral and petroleum companies and service providers that have gone beyond standard environmental practice.
The awards recognise leadership in environmental management, protection and rehabilitation.
Last year’s winners included:

- Kings Park and Botanic Gardens and Rocla Quarry Products for the rehabilitation of Banksia woodland at Rocla’s sand quarries; and
- Minara Resources for their framework of key performance rehabilitation indicators.
For more information and to download the entry form, visit the Golden Gecko website.
Entries close Thursday, April 9, 2009.
