The annual report provides an overview of DMP’s operations and compliance with legislative and Government policy requirements.
It is the first report under the new department and includes the department’s new vision and mission statements:
Vision

The report also outlines the allocation of services from the Department of Industry and Resources to the Departments of Mines and Petroleum, State Development, and Commerce.
The Department of Mines and Petroleum’s major focus, since its inception, has been to improve the efficiency and transparency of the State’s resource approvals regime.
The annual report details the progress made towards this goal in the last financial year.
Other significant achievements included the introduction of the $80 million Exploration Incentive Scheme, and the transfer of the regulatory responsibilities for health and safety in the resources sector from the Department of Commerce to DMP.
The report also details the department’s new organisational structure as well as a list of key performance indicators, which show an improvement overall on the last financial year.
