Petroleum and Geothermal Register (PGR) - Online Lodgement of Pipeline Licence Applications
Monday, 9 November 2009
The Department of Mines and Petroleum is the first government regulatory department in Australia to introduce online lodgement of Pipeline Licences for the petroleum and gas industry.
Industry is now able to lodge, pay for and track the progress of Pipeline Licence Applications online following the changes to the Petroleum and Geothermal Register (PGR) system made by the Petroleum Tenure and Land Access Branch.
Petroleum and Environment Executive Director Bill Tinapple said the upgrades, which were now accessible to the public, were a part of the Petroleum and Environment Division’s improved approval strategy.
“The online lodgement of Pipeline Licences is intended to streamline and simplify current business processes,” he said.
“Other States and Territories, including the Commonwealth Government, have already expressed an interest in providing the same service and are using the PGR online system as the benchmark.”
Additional functions now available through the PGR include:
• a customised Home Page for registered users of Online Payments and/or Online Lodgement
• the issuing of Tax Invoices and Receipts
• the ability to pay all fee types online
• further enhancements to Approvals Tracking
Current registered users with access to PGR or other DMP online systems can submit a request to access Online Lodgement and/or Online Payments via the following form:

New users wishing to register to access the PGR or other DMP online systems can complete the following registration form:
