
Selection Process
Each department will run its own recruitment and selection process to determine the graduate’s suitability to each home division. Please ensure you are aware of the requirements of what each division is looking for in order to put your best foot forward!
The selection process involves:
- Short-listing applications for interview.
- Interviewing the most competitive applicants. Applications not selected for interview will be notified in writing.
- Applicants selected for interview will be contacted by telephone or email, so please ensure you provide up-to-date contact details.
- Seeking references for the most competitive graduates.
Applicants interviewed will be asked to provide a copy of a project or assignment that demonstrates their research and communication skills.
The interview processes will assess the following competencies:
- Uses appropriate techniques to research.
- Uses a range of techniques and initiatives to identify and resolve problems.
- Works collaboratively to resolve issues.
- Drafts range of written documents.
- Communicates clearly and effectively, including within a small team environment.
Other selection techniques, such as second round interviews or written questions may also be used.
Successful applicants for these positions will receive offers of employment with a commencement date for employment in mid January.
