Registration is now open for the Geological Survey of Western Australia’s (GSWA) 2018 Open Day.
The popular annual event, which highlights the latest geological information and major activities undertaken by GSWA, will be held on 23 February at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle.
The Open Day will feature presentations on the latest results from GSWA’s geoscience programs, including collaborative research with Geoscience Australia, CSIRO, the Centre for Exploration Targeting (CET) and Curtin University.
Speakers will also outline activities and results from the Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS).
Round 17 of the popular Government Co-Funded Exploration Drilling program will be launched and will be open for applications from 23 February.
Acting Executive Director of Geoscience and Resource Strategy Dr Ian Tyler said the annual Open Day was the best geological event in Western Australia.
“The Open Day provides an impressive range of information to geologists and resource companies in a stress-free setting,” he said.
“There’s also great networking opportunities and plenty of time for questions and feedback”.
Highlights this year include presentations on a study about fingerprinting gold nuggets in the Kurnalpi Goldfield, new work in the Fortescue and Hamersley basins, release of a major review of the diamond prospectivity of Western Australia, and information on the hot commodities that constitute battery metals.
You may register for GSWA 2018 online.
