Scholarship Applications

MERIWA awards one or two post-graduate 'top-up' scholarships annually to recipients selected by written application and an interview following short-listing. Selection is based on the relevance of the applicant's post-graduate studies to Western Australian minerals or petroleum industry, on the applicant's academic record and interview presentation, and on references. Scholarships are awarded for up to 3 years and consist of a $5 000 stipend and $5 000 toward the recipient's research project expenses, annually. Awards can be made at any time during the student's graduate career. An advertisement for the scholarships appears in the "West Australian" newspaper usually late in October, and applications are accepted from that date until a date specified in early December.
