DEMIRS Data Essentials Training

Data essentials training banner

The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety offers in-person training in the use of GeoMap.WA, GeoVIEW.WA, Mineral Titles Online (MTO), TENGRAPH Web, Mines and Mineral Deposits (MINEDEX), Mineral exploration reports (WAMEX), Exploration drilling and surface geochemistry database (Drillholes) systems, and the Western Australian Petroleum and Geothermal Information Management System (WAPIMS). Online resources are also available.

Attendees should have proficient computer skills and know how to do the following in GeoVIEW.WA and TENGRAPH Web:

  • Identify
  • Zoom in/out
  • Turn on layers
  • Add drawings and measurements on the map
  • Do a simple search
  • Create a printout of the map
  • Add coordinate readouts

The training room is equipped with desktop computers – you will need to have proficient computer skills. You are welcome to bring your own device if you want to run through specific examples.

11:00 – 12:00: Navigating Mining Tenure using Mineral Titles Online (MTO) and Tengraph Web: REGISTER

13:00 – 14:00: Using Mines and Mineral Deposits (MINEDEX): REGISTER

14:00 – 15:00: Using Mineral exploration reports (WAMEX) and Exploration drilling and surface geochemistry database (Drillholes): REGISTER

15:00 – 16:00: Using Western Australian Petroleum and Geothermal Information Management System (WAPIMS): REGISTERonly on Monday, 6 May 2024

1 Adelaide Terrace, East Perth

To facilitate a swift sign-in and prompt start, please arrive 15 minutes before your session. Enter through the glass doors at 1 Adelaide Terrace, proceed past the reception desk on the right and up the ramp to the DEMIRS reception area. A DEMIRS staff member will escort you to the training room.
