Assistance will be available from 1 April.

Tenement holders are being offered assistance to complete their Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF) online report for 2014-15.

The compulsory online report must be submitted by 30 June to avoid penalty.

Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) Executive Director Environment Dr Phil Gorey said that tenement holders can come into the department’s East Perth office throughout April, May and June for MRF assistance.

“Tenement holders who need assistance with their MRF online report are encouraged to come into the DMP office in East Perth where an officer will be able to assist them,” Dr Gorey said.

“To ensure we are able to assist everyone who comes into the office as efficiently as possible, we encourage you to book an appointment either by phone or email.”

An appointment can be arranged by calling 08 9222 3162 or emailing MRFenquiry@dmp.wa.gov.au.

Members of the MRF team will again travel to regional centres in May to help tenement holders lodge their online report.

This year the team will visit Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie, Leonora, Sandstone and Mount Magnet.

Two information forums for tenement managers and consultants involved in MRF reporting are also being held in Perth.

These sessions will provide an overview of the reporting system from last year and information on system on system improvements, changes and additional functions.

“Disturbance data must be lodged annually, even if you fall below the MRF threshold and have no levy to pay,” Dr Gorey said.
