The Department of Mines Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) is encouraging tenement holders to submit their Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF) reports early this year.

The 30 June deadline remains the same however DMIRS Resource and Environmental Compliance, Acting Executive Director, Karen Caple is reminding stakeholders that disturbance and rehabilitation data can be entered at any point in the year.

“Companies are encouraged to lodge their reports at a time to suit them, however, rather than create a mad rush in June, we are prompting industry to consider submitting their reports early this year and not leave it to the last minute,” said Ms Caple.

“The response from tenement holders last year was fantastic, with a 99% compliance rate, and hopefully we can all work together again this year to help companies submit on time.”

If you do not have access to a computer, public access computers are available in the Library at Mineral House on Level 1 and at each of the regional offices where staff can assist you in completing your MRF report. It is also possible to submit your report using a smartphone or tablet.

DMIRS friendly MRF team is available to assist you if you have any questions, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch by e-mail, on the telephone or in person.
