Department of Mines and Petroleum Annual Report released

The former department activities and performance highlighted in the 2016-17 report
Date: Thursday, 14 September 2017

The final Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) Annual Report, tabled in Parliament on 14 September 2017, is now available from the website of the newly formed Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS).

The 2016-17 report highlights the activities and performance of the former DMP for the last financial year. It showcases many significant achievements that have contributed to Western Australia being recognised as one of the world’s most attractive resource investment jurisdictions.

In the report, Director General David Smith, acknowledges the willingness of staff to step in and take on different roles as required during the transition to form the new department, an approach that he believes will ensure success in our continuing role of being the State’s regulator of the resources sector as a part of DMIRS into the future.

For the first time, the Annual Report will also be available in a new interactive format that will improve access and readability. This is expected to be available on the website within the next few weeks.

The former DMP 2016–17 Annual Report can be downloaded from the DMIRS website.
