DMIRS has prepared guidelines that specify the contents, standards and format required in the preparation and submission of mineral exploration reports in accordance with Section 115A of the Mining Act 1978.
The latest guidelines were gazetted on 15th February 2016.

The guidelines are designed to assist holders of mining tenements in Western Australia in the preparation and submission of mineral exploration reports under section 115A of the Mining Act, 1978. Show all documents
The Mineral Exploration Reporting (MRT) software is a free tool for adding required metadata to exploration data to make it compliant with the requirements of the guidelines above.
Proposed amendments to the guidelines for mineral exploration reporting on mining tenements
Four small amendments were originally proposed to be included in an update of the guidelines in 2018. Further amendments have now been added, under Part A, Statutory Requirements and Part C, Structure of Reports to align the wording more closely with Section 115A(1) of the Mining Act 1978.
