The primary data layers are statewide, unfiltered datasets that are used to generate the derived layers featured in the Mineral Systems Atlas.

Most original datasets require modification to enable them to be queried. Such modifications may include the merging of datasets (e.g. multiple solid geology data projected at different scales) and recalculation of fields (e.g. element-to-element oxide values in the geochemical dataset).
