Dangerous Goods officers from the Department of Mines and Petroleum will be at the Dowerin and Newdegate Machinery Field Days to provide information and guidance on a range of dangerous goods topics.

The two-day Dowerin Machinery Field Days starts this Wednesday (24 August) at the Dowerin Showgrounds, while the Newdegate Machinery Field Days runs on the 7th and 8th of September at the Newdegate Recreational Precinct.

Dangerous Goods Team Leader Erin James said both events were an opportunity for the department to connect with the Western Australian farming community.

"Dangerous Goods officers from the department will be available to provide information and guidance to people attending the field days with a display focused on correct load restraint and placarding requirements of typical agricultural chemical loads," Miss James said.

"Information and guidance about rural transport and storage requirements for dangerous goods, including ammunition and the importance of restraining and segregating dangerous goods will be available at our display."
