New system to enhance application efficiencies coming

DEMIRS invites industry feedback to improve lodgement of exploration and mining environmental applications.
Date: Wednesday, 28 February 2024

The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) will be introducing a new and secure digital solution to improve the efficiency of environmental applications under the Mining Act 1978 and State petroleum legislation.

This is a key deliverable of the department’s Fast Tracking Mining Approvals program, which aims to significantly expand and improve the digital capability of mining and petroleum environmental lodgements to DEMIRS.

Known as Resources Online, this new platform will replace the current system EARS Online with a consolidated solution that provides a single user portal.

Resources Online will improve assessment timeframes and efficiency, providing a better customer experience and improved business processes.

The department would appreciate your input by completing a five-minute survey about your experience lodging Programme of Works (PoW), Mining Proposals (MP) and/or Mine Closure Plan (MCP) applications to DEMIRS.

A survey for lodging petroleum environmental applications will be available in mid-2024.

Your feedback will be used to inform the design and department processes around the system.

Complete the survey here.

This survey is confidential and will close on Friday 15 March.
