Date: Thursday, 02 April 2020

The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) is reminding the resources industry that it is their responsibility to stay informed and check for information updates about the rapidly changing COVID-19 coronavirus situation.

Employers are responsible for maintaining contact with their workers and keeping them informed of changing COVID-19 measures and restrictions to reduce the spread of the virus.

The department has received a significant number of enquiries from industry about border, biosecurity and regional restrictions and we have advised industry that the latest information regarding these restrictions is available at www.wa.gov.au

WA Police are responsible for enforcing travel directions but it is important to note that exemptions apply for essential services and workers including the resources industry workforce. The website also has information about exemptions or you can contact the Incident Management Team by emailing socc.covid19smail@police.wa.gov.au
