DMP joins Main Roads to talk about truck safety and dangerous goods.

Dangerous Goods Officers from the Department of Mines and Petroleum will be at the 2015 Perth Truck and Trailer Show this weekend to answer questions about transporting dangerous goods.

Officers from the department’s Resources Safety Division will be manning a booth with Main Roads.

Dangerous Goods and Petroleum Safety Director Ross Stidolph said the department was committed to providing information and raising awareness about the safe transport of dangerous goods.

“As well as having experienced officers on hand to answer any questions, we will also be holding an information session on Friday about our Six Pillars of Dangerous Goods Transport campaign,” Mr Stidolph said.

“The campaign highlights issues such as documentation, placarding, restraint, segregation, packaging and vehicle requirements.”

The Perth Truck and Trailer Show is a biennial event hosted by the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association, a division of the Motor Trades Association of WA.

It showcases the latest vehicles, equipment, parts and accessories in conjunction with up-to-date information and services for the WA trucking industry.

The show starts on Friday and runs until Sunday at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

More information is available from the 2015 Perth Truck and Trailer Show website and the events section of the department’s website.
