The first Environment eNewsletter for 2017 now available

The Department of Mines and Petroleum’s (DMP) first edition of the Environment eNewsletter is now available.

In this edition, DMP launches its Programme of Work (PoW) training sessions for the new online spatial lodgement system.

This quarter’s newsletter also outlines the eligibility criteria for the 2017 Golden Gecko Awards for Environmental Excellence. Nominations close at 5pm on 10 April and the winner will be announced in October at the Department’s annual Awards for Excellence.

The Abandoned Mines Program Partnership Guideline – February 2017 is now online and this edition brings updates on the Abandoned Mines Program and the Mining Rehabilitation Fund.

Members of the public can now access the majority of submissions and permits granted by the Environment Division through a new webpage and  Approved Mine Closure Plans have been added to the Environment Division’s Publicly Available Information webpage.
